Description
A beautiful waterfall tucked away on the Pennine Way, not too far from the Wessenden Reservoirs. The plunge pool is about 2m deep at the deepest spot, big enough for a few strokes but more of a dipping spot than a true swim!
Getting There
Park at Wessenden Head Road Car Park, and take the Pennine Way trail. It's about an hour's walk, past Wessenden and Wessenden Head Reservoirs, then across the dam at the second reservoir and follow the path. The trail is visible on Google Maps so you can follow it the whole way.
Accessibility
The walk has hills and muddy/rocky patches, not suitable for anything on wheels or anyone with trouble walking. When you get to the waterfall it's easy to get in, though stones can be slippery.

Callan
Great pool. Located at a spot between trails where walkers have to cross over the rocks to reach the opposite site of the valley to continue, so it's very private or not very depending on the amount of people out for the day. Not suitable for a lengthy swim but if you're just wanting to get your wild water fix for the day it's a great spot with a great walking route attached to boot.

A bit of a trek but so worth it!
