Horní Planá is a small town located in the south-west of the Czech Republic in the region of Jihočeský kraj. The town sits on the shore of Lake Lipno, which is the largest artificial lake in the Czech Republic. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling hills, dense forests, and pristine lakes. The area is popular with hikers and cyclists, who enjoy exploring the beautiful countryside. Český Krumlov, a UNESCO world heritage site, is located approximately 25 km south-east of Horní Planá. The town is famous for its picturesque old town, which features narrow cobblestone streets, colourful medieval houses and the impressive 13th-century castle complex overlooking the town. The Vltava River runs through the town, adding to the charm of the area.
