Description
Coastal swim from a pebble beach in North Wales, right next to Penmon Point. Penmon is a village on the eastern tip of the Isle of Anglesey, about 3 miles east of the town of Beaumaris. From the beach, you can see the lighthouse and further away is Puffin Island. The water can be choppy.

A great place to visit but right on the edge of the Menai with a lot of rocks, waves in several different directions, varied currents and swells, definitely one for pro-sea swimmers. Most websites advise againstt swimming here. Also a lot of fishing going on and many boats, including fast rib rides, coming by from Beaumaris so you’d need to be very visible if you swimming further out. I assessed the risk for myself and decided this wasn’t safe for me. Great bluetherapy speaks though!
