A nice, shallow entry beach with a designated swimming area about 200m long. Nothing to stop you swimming the whole length, which is about a kilometre, just be careful with any of the steps at the town end, as they’re usually very slippery. The bay is protected, so not usually too wavy, and this also means tidal currents aren’t very strong (in my experience/opinion). I’ve marked it as shallow, but this is in relative terms, so don’t expect to be standing on the bottom 50m from shore.
