There is a rough road surfaced carpark which is free and very close to where you access the water. Easy to get in and handy picnic bench to stow stuff. We swam upstream first which was more open we swam for about 15 minutes and found lots of plant/feather debris floating on surface so turned round. Swimming downstream was much more covered by tree canopy and a wee bit creepy but also a bit of an adventure. All in all nice for an urban location.

Love this little swimming spot. Good, easy access and a nice dip for the kids too. Can we hard work swimming against the current so be careful!

Access has been improved, now steps and level platform, great for swimming and SUPs. Go left and end up under the A40. Go right and 1.5km later the Victoria Arms is on your left; great food, drink and service. Beautiful little stretch of river. Beware of overhanging/submerged trees and branches.
