Nice swim spot but gets very busy during peak hours in the summer with all the activities on offer here - fantastic first thing in the morning and over the winter months! Long loop around lake 2. Swimming in lake 1 over winter. There is a ramp into lake 2 but it’s slippy so take care and the carpet is ruffled up so take care. Kingfishers, herons… a lot of wildlife to see.

Wonderful place to swim, especially when lake 2 is open. Well managed and staff and swimmers are all lovely and approachable

Feel very lucky to have a facility like Spring Lakes. It does get very busy in the summer but it is open for swimming with life guards all year round. I’ve trained for long distance swims and always felt welcome to take my time in the lake. Good cafe for warming up after a winter dip. Recommend buying a 10 swim pass to avoid paying the booking fee on every swim. I also coach open water swimming at the venue through Her Spirit with other coaches, so there’s opportunities if you want to get into open water in a supportive setting or want to develop towards a specific event.

Spring Lakes gets incredibly busy in the summer due to the wake park, aqua park, and paddle boarding. BUT, get out into Lake 2, which is swim and paddle boarding only and you are suddenly in a haven of peace and tranquility. The circuit clockwise, from the entry ramp and back round to 1st buoy is 1.6km or 1 mile. The venue is very good at keeping the water as weed-free as possible, and the water is exceptionally clean. **Hats and toe floats are compulsory and it is enforced**
