Description

A lovely little reservoir up on the moors. Absolutely gorgeous at sunrise!

Getting There

Park on the road and walk down the footpath, it's about a 10min walk. Can be steep/slippy in places when wet.

Accessibility

Enter cautiously, the bottom is muddy but there are occasionally big flat stones. About knee deep getting in then slopes gently. You can touch the bottom all down the left-hand side but it gets deep in the middle.

Late summer walk up to Snailsden. Quite a chilly dip, lovely and refreshing after a hot day. Deep and long enough for a really good swim, just keep an eye on the banks for geese and muddy entry/exit.
