Good spot and clear from weeds on the surface from this entry point to the weir and back. If you head west once under the bridge you have to fight with a few more weeds but still a good place to paddle and kayak. Water is about waist height at the entry point for an adult in the dryer season. Easy parking also at the back of pub car park on the opposite side of the river.

Refreshing and beautiful surroundings. Quiet and calm waters. Shallow in places but it’s been very hot! Saw some paddle boarders, and walkers.

Provided water levels are not too low, can swim for some length in either direction. Dog friendly, family friendly. Often SUPs in water too. Next door to big green area, playground etc

Free parking by the tennis courts off Gooseham Mead.

Accessibility

Level access to waterside. Small climb down (2-3 feet) to standing in the water. Riverbed is silty - would encourage neoprene socks.
