Lovely swim spot with a couple of access points along the river - when facing the bridge walk along the tow path to the right or go over the bridge and walk along the tow path to the left.
Getting There
HammondS Road leads to Church Road and you park in the lay-by - 1 min walk to river.
Accessibility
Wear shoes - easy access a small step down. River heads up to a lock 200 metres and down to paper mill lock for a 1 km swim.

Mand
Often swim here if Southend tide times are not convenient. The parking is in a lay-by which overlooks Trifarm lake. Several access points along the right hand side if you follow the path away from the car. Current can sometimes be strong however the river bed is in touching distance (even for a 5’3” shortie like me). River is often used by paddle boarders too. Lovely location, water level fairly constant altho please make your own judgement.
