Description
At the bottom of the High Street in Seaview. Sheltered swim spot except in strong Northerly or North Easterly winds. Views across the Solent to Portsmouth. There is a concrete slipway which slopes down to a largely sandy beach - just a short area of shingle and pebbles when it’s not high tide. Two hours either side of high tide the tidal flow is towards Ryde; two hours either side of low tide it is towards Bembridge. Local swim groups meet at sunrise and 8.30 most days and at 9 on Sundays.
Getting There
Parking on the High Street or in the car park in the village - Pier Road. Easily accessible on foot and only a short walk from the centre of the village. Coffee shop and pub very close by. Hotel toilets can be used by public.
Accessibility
Gentle slope to access the water. Accessible whatever the tide. Wide area of sand between large rocks exposed at lower tides. From April to September there are moored boats. Popular area for SUP’s in Summer.
