Explore this spot near Santa Pola. Great spot for swimming and paddling, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and wind surfing. Santa Pola is a coastal town located in the province of Alicante, in the autonomous community of Valencia, on the southeast coast of Spain. The town is surrounded by stunning natural beauty being encased by the Mediterranean Sea on one side and the Santa Pola Saltpans Natural Park on the other. The area boasts wide, clean and sandy beaches, stretching over 11 km, with calm crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean. The views of the sea from the rocky headland of Santa Pola, known as the Cape of Santa Pola, are spectacular. In the outskirts of Santa Pola, the impressive Santa Pola Saltpans Natural Park can be found. It is a large wetland area home to an array of bird species including purple herons, flamingos, and other migratory birds. It is an excellent place to explore the wildlife and nature of the area. In the center of the town sits a symbol of the town's history- the castle of Santa Pola, with views across the beaches and sea. The town also offers a charming and historic old town with traditional Spanish architecture, plazas, and streets with plenty of inviting restaurants and bars.

- Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
- Always swim with others or tell someone your plan

When is the best time to swim here?
Check the Tides tab for today's high and low times. Many coastal spots are best around high tide when there's enough water depth, or during slack water when currents are weakest.
What should I bring?
A tow float for visibility, warm layers for after, and footwear for rocky entries. In colder months, consider a wetsuit, gloves, and a swim cap.
