Explore this spot in Le Barcarès. Popular location for kayaking, canoeing, sailing, surfing, supping, wind surfing, body surfing, body boarding and kiteboarding. Le Barcarès is a coastal town located in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of the Occitanie region, in the south of France. It is situated on the Mediterranean Sea and is surrounded by beautiful scenery, including the Albères Mountains to the south and the Étang de Leucate lagoon to the north. The town has a long and wide sandy beach, which is very popular with visitors during the summer months. There are also many restaurants and bars along the waterfront promenade, as well as a bustling marina where visitors can hire boats and go fishing. Inland from the town, there is a vast and picturesque landscape of vineyards, orchards, and rolling hills. The area is known for its winemaking, with over 20 vineyards surrounding the town. Surrounding the town, visitors can explore the stunning natural beauty of the Pyrénées-Orientales region, including the Pyrenees Mountains to the west, the Côte Vermeille coastline to the south, and the Cathar castles to the north.
