What a fabulous place for a swim! Easy stroll down from car park, easy entry to water (I went left at the bottom of the path - look for the metal bench). Bottom sandy, water clear, loads of bird life. Absolutely beautiful!

Pickmere is a fantastic lake to swim in. Feels very calm, serene, and remote (dispite being 10 mins from M6). The morning light here is gorgeous and I always leave feeling joyous and refreshed. Please respect this lake ad the village as it can get busy in the summer. Take your litter home and be mindful of where you park. We want to keep Pickmere accessible to all who want to enjoy its treasure!

https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-fence-at-pickmere-lake — please sign the petition to stop the local council fencing off access to Pickmere Lake because a disrespectful minority want to ruin it for the rest of us.

Go 3 or 4 x per week and it’s lovely. End to end is 500m. Swim regularly 5 - 8km. Enjoy.

Ignore the “do not swim” sign. Literally everybody does. We swim here a few times a month. Parking is quite limited, so plan quieter times during school holidays (early morning or evening) Aside from that, beautiful clear water that is frequently used for paddle boarding, swimmers, and kayakers. One of my favourite idyllic places to swim. Do watch out for the locals though… they don’t seem to be fans of the wild swimmers… :)

Lovely place for a swim. Car park not huge but places to park in streets near ish, be considerate tho. Lots of swimmers, paddle boarders. Some fishermen to be aware of.

There are small signs near the lake saying no swimming. Everyone ignores these and it's not clear why they have them, slightly confusing. Theres a small beachy area that most people get in and out of and clear markers in the water - it's a lovely spot and you can swim a fair distance.
