Description

Idyllic swimming spot with an access point to the right of the stone bridge through the gate. Can be muddy on entry. Beautiful stone reeds line the River Nene as it bends round. Despite being near a main road, the sound is partially blocked by the trees. Free Parking but note it can get busy when people use it to cross over to Ferry Meadows Park.

Easy access. Always start swimming to the right as you enter as that is against current. Some thefts reported so put valuables in tow float.

Clean and clear as long as there hasn't been a recent downpour. The Nene becomes fast flowing and can flood through the winter months. If you cross the bridge and go 950m upstream via the Ferry Meadows side you can get in and swim/woosh down. You can also walk upstream on the right hand side and get in after the railway bridge or 3km up and get in before Alwalton Lock
