Porta Westfalica is a small town located in the district of Minden-Lübbecke in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. It is situated at the foothills of the Weserbergland Mountains and is known for its stunning natural beauty and historical significance. The area around Porta Westfalica is characterized by rolling hills, lush green forests, and sparkling waterways. It is home to several nature reserves, including the Wesergebirge and the Bergwiesen Nature Reserve, which offer breathtaking views and opportunities for hiking, cycling, and wildlife watching. The town is also situated at the confluence of the Weser and the river Bastau, which provides plenty of opportunities for water sports and fishing. Porta Westfalica is perhaps best known for its iconic landmark, the Porta Westfalica Cliffs.
