Agde is a coastal town located in the department of Hérault, in the region of Occitanie in southern France. The town is situated at the mouth of the river Hérault where it flows into the Mediterranean Sea. The area around Agde boasts a stunning natural beauty, with sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, and blue waters of the Mediterranean. The landscape is dominated by the ancient volcanic mountains of the Massif Central, which provide a dramatic backdrop to this Mediterranean paradise. The region is known for its wine production, and its vineyards are spread over the rolling hills surrounding the town. The area is also home to a number of historic sites, including the 12th-century cathedral of Saint-Étienne and the Château de La Trinité, a 10th-century castle perched on a hilltop offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
