Experience this spot in Agios Ioannis. Great location for swimming and paddling, scuba diving, kayaking, canoeing, supping and wind surfing. Agios Ioannis is a small village located on the north coast of Crete, in the Decentralized Administration of Crete. The area is surrounded by beautiful rocky cliffs and lush greenery, with views of the sparkling blue sea. The village itself is quaint and traditional, with white-washed homes and narrow streets. The nearby beaches offer clear waters and soft sand, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The rocky landscape also makes for excellent hiking and exploring. Overall, Agios Ioannis and its surrounding scenery offer a peaceful and picturesque backdrop for visitors to Crete.

Plan your swim
Before you go
- Check tide times before entering. Incoming tides can cut off escape routes.
- Watch for rip currents, especially near groynes and headlands
- Cold water shock is real. Enter slowly and control your breathing.
- Always swim with others or tell someone your plan
- A tow float makes you visible to boats and other water users
