Description
A long stretch of road water, where the River Test joins Southampton Water. Swimming is possible only at high tide. Views across to the Docks give it a somewhat industrial feel, but it’s a lovely quiet spot with easy access and either short dips or a long swim down to Marchwood is possible! A tow float is recommended for visibility, as there can be boats and jet skis in the area.

Lovely! Grassy riverbank popular with dog walkers. Easy in/out just after high tide, gentle flow, handy benches for changing. No river traffic when I was there (mid-November Saturday morning)

TracyHi
found a good entry point and swam back up towards Eling against the current then had an easier trip back. A great spot. there were a couple of fast craft but nothing too bad. went at high tide
