Deshaies is a small town located in the Canton de Sainte-Rose-1 on the western coast of Basse-Terre, which is a rugged and mountainous island in the French Caribbean island group of Guadeloupe. The area surrounding Deshaies is characterized by a lush tropical rainforest with rich biodiversity, including various species of birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. The town itself has a small harbor with boats and catamarans available for hire, as well as several restaurants, cafes, and shops catering to visitors. The beaches near Deshaies, such as Grande Anse and La Perle, are considered some of the most beautiful on the island, with crystal-clear waters, soft sands, and excellent opportunities for snorkeling, diving, and other water activities.
