Description
Easy entry from the pathways and nice gentle swoosh along to the rowing club. Further distances possible but I had limited time.
Getting There
Free parking at Newton Road recreation ground. DE15 0TX. Pub a short distance away on the river is good value ‘The Sump’.
Accessibility
Slip straight in from anywhere on the riverbank.

Although it's good access and the water flows at a nice slow rate here, there have been significant issues with water pollution. These have made the news and the stretch has been a murky brown with reports of sewage at times during winter months.
