Check out this spot in Hückelhoven. Great spot for swimming and paddling, kayaking, canoeing, walking and supping. Hückelhoven is a small town located in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany, about 40 kilometers west of Cologne. The town is surrounded by lush green fields and forests, with a gentle rolling landscape that is typical of much of this part of Germany. The town itself has a mix of traditional German architecture and modern buildings, with a picturesque town center featuring a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. The area is also home to several historic castles and churches, including Burg Wassenberg and the St. Lambertus church in Linnich. Just outside of Hückelhoven, visitors can explore the expansive Hambacher Forst forest, which is home to numerous hiking and cycling trails as well as a variety of wildlife. The nearby Cologne region is also known for its picturesque river valleys and vineyards, as well as the famous Gothic Cologne Cathedral.
