Great place to swim. Good shallow access at scarceness.

I was driving on the A66, and pulled over when I noticed the lake. Free side of road parking, and easily accessible on foot. Great first wild swim, as no sudden drop off, and lake only 70ft deep

Went to the Ouse Bridge spot as indicated on map. Small free parking area and steps (quite steep) down the lake with perfect easy entry. Gradual increase in depth, bottom stony / gravelly. Excellent swim spot!

I entered via the slipway at Scarness. Excellent swim in the sheltered bay there and spectacular views up to Skiddaw once I was out at the buoys.
