ViBe Intro to Open Water Swimming
If you want to give open water swimming (or dipping) a go, but don’t know where to start, or your first triathlon is booked but you balk at the thought of murky water! If you’re a swimmer who’s happy swimming 400m or so in the pool but who rather thinks they’d like to be outside in nature, feeling better about life, soothing aches and meeting new people then… This is for YOU. You'll learn how to relax and enjoy the water as well as everything you need to know to be safe.

Intro to Cold Water Swimming
The summer's over and the water is starting to get colder. Swimming in cold water is a lot more interesting than swimming in warm water, but there are essential safety tips you need to know before you plunge in. We start with an online session to cover all safety aspects of swimming in cold water - from what to wear to what to do after your swim, and how to spot the signs of hypothermia. We continue at the lake a few days later, where we all get to reap the benefits of cold water swimming!

Hello! I'm Vida. I started swimming open water a few years ago, a nervous, weedy adult swimmer. I loved it! Since then, I've progressed to middle distance triathlon and long distance swimming including Big Bala Swim, Jubilee River 10k, and the Thames Half Marathon swim. I swim just because it's there, and just because I can! I completely understand how it is to be new to open water swimming - or just dipping, if you prefer. If you want to out what all the fuss is about, then I'm here to hold your hand (in a manner of speaking) and guide you in. A coaching session or two can really help settle any nerves you might have for your first or upcoming triathlon too. If you're already an open water swimmer, I can help you with front crawl stroke improvement and sighting, and I can help you make the transition from wetsuit to skins - although if you're determined to hold onto your wetsuit, that's ok too! Other Ways I Can Help As a registered Sports Nutritionist, I can help you make sure you're well fuelled for all your endeavours. I am also a fully qualified Feldenkrais, Pilates and Movement specialist, and can put together a movement ptogramme that helps alleviate aches, pains and movement restrictions.
