This is local to me and started swimming and paddleboarding here just over a year ago. I’ve since abandoned the spot as there a sewage treatment works about 1/2 mile upstream that discharges raw sewage. Lots of local people swim here and it’s busy spot during the summer, but local people have reported illness and reports submitted to the Environment Agency. Such a shame as it’s a lovely spot as per the other reviews. But If you do swim here, make sure it’s not rained for a few days

Went down today around 9am on a Saturday. Nice and quiet with nobody around. We parked just after the bridge on the right but I would say parking is a struggle. The area is lovely, nice little weir and a few jettis on. I would say it’s not very deep so not a lot of ‘swimming’ going on. More just a float down the river on your back.

Pretty location for a swim with easy access from the road and easy to get in and out from the bank. Only downside is the shallowness of the water but still enough room for a small relaxed swim.
