Description

There’s a lovely little beach a short walk from the Bracebridge pub. You can park near the pub and walk anti-clockwise around the lake to reach the beach. It can get muddy on this walk so take appropriate footwear.

Getting There

Really muddy walk through the woods to the right of the Bracebridge pub.

Accessibility

Accessing this swim spot is quite difficult, it’s a muddy long walk with lots of trip hazards. Entry to the park after is nice and gentle though. Entry into the water is easy, as it starts shallow and gets deeper gradually. A fab place to start if you are a beginner to wild swimming.

Has anyone ever had trouble with the park wardens regarding swimming here at Bracebridge Pool or in any of the other pools in Sutton Park ? The Park Wardens here have always been 'anti-swimming' and the council website activity warns people not to swim in the sutton park pools - even though the pools are perfect and very safe pools to swim in. Am I right in assuming that the park authorities are no longer bothered about preventing people swimming here in the park ??

My first swim here. Aside from when I was a teenager😁 Beautiful Bracebridge! I always find it so peaceful. Came with a great group of people, most of them new to open water swimming. Amazing experience, fun and invigorating. And now I'm hooked💙🥶💙🥶

My first ever wild swim was here. It will always have a special place in my heart. Right in the heart of Sutton Park. Great as a starter to wild swimming as it is a gradual entry. ❤️
