You will need a swimming costume or trunks, water shoes/trainers/sandals that you can both walk and swim in, bright swim hat and tow float dry bag for carrying your belongings, a lightweight towel/robe and a small leakproof water bottle. If you don't have a swim hat or tow float, don't worry, I can lend them to you. Please feel free to wear a wetsuit or any other items of neoprene that you feel comfortable swimming in. Other small items you might want to bring include phone/camera, sun hat, sunglasses. Remember that whatever you bring, you will carry/wear whilst walking and it will then need to fit into the tow float dry bag for the swim.

You do not need to be fit or a strong swimmer to join in but please be sure that you are comfortable walking 2km, treading water and being out of your depth and being in the water for about 40 minutes. This timing is for a leisurely heads up breast stroke pace. Even though it is summer the water can still feel cold, especially if you are not a regular swimmer. From the swim exit point we will walk directly back to the car park where you can change. This is where a towel or robe is handy as a cover up for the walk back. Bring plenty of layers for afterwards, a snack and a hot drink. Drinks and food are available from The Barn during opening hours.
